Poele Frigo

As a Montrealer, I have an emotional connection with this city. From the days of its golden era in the 70’s to the present times changing economic conditions have left deep scars that are all around the streets. What I see every day are the shops that close in communities. I feel some part of me is also dying with my beloved city. As an artist, I could not keep my distance and did the only thing I could do, photograph these shops. Espace a Louer which means space for rent in French is a testament to the hard times Montreal is going through with no evidence of a reversal. This is my way of voicing my cry for change for the better.
